iAIM online Frequently Asked Questions

What are the benefits of an iAIM Certification?

In today's competitive business world, continuing your education makes more sense than ever before. Prospective and current employers look for those who are willing to continue their education and increase their skill base. The iAIM Education Program delivers solid career credentials while allowing you to arrange your studies around work, home and family responsibilities. Having iAIM Certification will be an employment requirement in the future.

When do the iAIM online courses begin, or can I take them anytime?

iAIM online courses are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Courses begin when you register and may be completed at your own pace. Registration provides access to materials for 12 months.

What does the fee include?

iAIM online registration fees provide access to the content of one Certificate Track for 12 months. Anytime during that period, upon completion of the materials, you can register for the on-site review workshop and final exam held in conjunction with the annual ISI Ice Arena Conference and Tradeshow. Cost for the workshop and exam is $100.

How long do I have to complete a track?

Registration fees provide access to materials for 12 months from date of registration.

Can I share my iAIM online account with others?

No. Your account is based on your paid registration and must not be shared. Sharing the iAIM online content is a copyright violation, and may result in loss of access to the certificate programs entirely. In any case, iAIM Certificates require participation in an onsite workshop and final exam during which your understanding of the content will be tested. There are no shortcuts to comprehension and certification.

What type of computer do I need?

Any general purpose computer (Windows or Macintosh) will work provided it can run a web browser such as Internet Explorer (version 4 or later), Netscape Navigator (version 4.7 or later) or Mozilla (release 1.4 or later). You must have access to the Internet either through a dial-up modem or a broadband service (such as DSL or cable provider). You will need the latest version of Adobe Reader which is a free program that allows you to view portable document format (PDF) documents. If you don't have Adobe Reader, click here to download and install it . Finally, your web browser must be set up to accept cookies (tiny files that a web site puts on your computer when you visit the site) and must be set up to run Javascript (programming language used at iAIM online). Most web browsers are set up by default to meet these requirements, but if you have changed the security settings on your web browser, you may have turned off cookies or Javascript. Read the section titled "Web Browser Set Up." If you continue to have problems, e-mail a message to support@iaim-online.org providing as much detail as possible about your problem (including information on your computer's operating system, type and version of web browser you're using, specific materials you could not access, etc).

Troubleshooting

I forgot my password.

E-mail support@iaim-online.org and provide your full name and mailing address as submitted in your registration. A support staff member will send your password to the e-mail address on record. Allow 24 hours to receive a response. For security reasons, we cannot send a password to any address other than that under which the registration was created. If your e-mail address changes, notify support@iaim-online.org.

I can't access the iAIM online web site at all. What should I do?

First, confirm that you can access other web sites such as http://www.google.com or http://www.yahoo.com. If you cannot access any web sites, then it is likely there's a problem with your computer's connection to the Internet. You should reboot your computer and try reconnecting to the Internet; if you cannot connect to the Internet, contact your local Internet service provider.

If you can access other web sites, but not the iAIM online web site, make sure that you are entering the correct web address. It is http://iaim-online.org (or you may click on this link). Once connected, you should bookmark the iAIM online site so it is easily available in the future.

If you are entering the correct web address, but still cannot connect, review the technical requirements under "What type of computer do I need." Make sure your computer meets these requirements and, if not, follow the steps outlined on this page to try and resolve the problem before contacting the iAIM Support Desk.

If you continue to have problems, e-mail a message to support@iaim-online.org providing as much detail as possible about your problem (including information on your computer's operating system, type and version of web browser you're using, specific materials you could not access, etc). If you cannot use e-mail to communicate, contact the Ice Skating Institute at (972)-735-8800 for further assistance.

I can log on but can't view course documents.

If you can log on and see the iAIM online web site, but get an error message when trying to access the documents, it is possible that you don't have the latest version of Adobe Reader. The content is presented in Adobe Acrobat portable document format (PDF). Adobe Reader is a free program that allows you to view PDF documents. If you don't have the latest version of Adobe Reader, click here to download and install it , then try viewing the course documents again. If you continue to have problems, e-mail a message to support@iaim-online.org providing as much detail as possible about your problem (including information on your computer's operating system, type and version of web browser you're using, specific materials you could not access, etc).

I log onto the iAIM online Web site, click on the desired track, then I'm told to log on again.

This specific symptom suggests that your web browser is set to reject cookies, which are tiny files that a web site puts on your computer when you visit the site. Your web browser must be set to accept cookies. To do this, consult the item titled "Web Browser Set Up."
